Vicky Turrell DipNT BAHons PGCE DipSpLD mBANT & CNHC
I studied Nutrition at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London and trained in a busy central London clinic before starting my own private practice. I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
I am also currently consultant Nutritional Therapist at Emerson House, specialist centre for Dyslexia, and Director of Studies at CNM. I see clients privately in Central London and Hammersmith and also in Guildford, Surrey.
What I do
I recognise the importance of treating each person as an individual and as a whole – both physically and mentally. I use a combination of functional diagnostic testing, medical history and nutritional analysis to create tailor made nutrition plans. These include supplement recommendations, diet, lifestyle and natural therapy advice. I aim to improve each individual's overall health and cognitive function, as well as addressing specific symptoms.
I see clients with a broad range of issues including weight imbalance, IBS, energy fluctuations, allergies, food intolerances, stress and sleep management and autoimmune conditions. I also have a particular interest in childhood nutrition and the effects of diet on learning. I am a qualified teacher and specialist teacher for dyslexia and have spent many years advising parents on learning and behavioural difficulties.
I hold one to one consultations and offer ongoing support for each of my clients. I am also available via Skype for follow up meetings. An initial consultation usually lasts up to an hour and a half, after which a detailed personalised plan is sent via email and by post. I see clients 4 to 6 weeks later for a follow up appointment to discuss progress, review test results and adapt the plan accordingly.
