Personal Travel Blog - Columbia Beach Resort - Cyprus
If you are looking for a sun-sure spa and fitness destination, Columbia Beach Resort in Cyprus is a very good bet for most of the year as it generally stays warm very late into the season. Our Marketing Manager, Natalie, has just come back so read her review below and then please do call us on 020 373 7555 if you would like to discuss more!
The style: Traditional, Cypriot design with rooms in 'blocks' that are very attractively built so that they look like a series of 2 storey villas with balconies
The vibe: Chilled and a very friendly team. Most people relax by the central swimming pool in between treatments and fitness and it's frankly 'wow'!
The spa: It's petite but has a Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna plus relaxing areas and dip pool. The treatments and therapists are excellent - be sure to have a Swedish back massage!
The food: Healthy Mediterranean choices with fresh salads bursting with flavours, grilled fish and meze selections. I really liked the outdoor Apollo Tavern which has amazing views across the sea
The fitness: There's a gym, squash courts, tennis court, fitness studio with daily group classes plus a great water sports centre on the beach with activities such as water skiing and stand up paddle boarding. Rather unique is the professional cycling centre (run by an ex Swiss cycling champion no less...) with a huge range of cycles to hire and you can sign up for a cycling trip taking in the neighbouring hills and villages - worth it as the scenery is stunning!
The bedrooms: Very spacious and light with traditional furnishings such as tiled flooring and wooden furniture. All have balconies overlooking the swimming pool or lush gardens
Insider tip: Be sure to check out the onsite All Saints chapel - it's totally extraordinary! Painted by famed Scottish artist, John Corbidge, in vibrant colours and patterns that will have you agog
Perfect for: Those who want a relaxing holiday where they can dip in and out of spa treatments and fitness activities rather than spend their days based in a spa environment
The resort closes for the winter season on 31 October so be quick if you want to go here!
