Travel Blog - Sianji Wellbeing Resort - Turkey (client review)
Our client, Emma, headed off to Sianji Wellbeing Resort, near Bodrum in Turkey to take a detox programme and reports back on her visit:
So...why did you book Sianji?
I chose it because I wanted a beach holiday with health & wellbeing benefits and activities and it certainly ticked all the boxes. I did the 'Raw & Vegan Detox' programme and came back feeling healthier, lighter and energised. I had left the UK feeling exhausted and burnt out so can't tell you how different I felt! I really had a fabulous 10 night stay.
Tell us more about your stay...
I arrived late at night and was greeted by very friendly reception staff upon arrival - always an excellent way to start your holiday. The check-in procedure was straightforward and I was quickly shown to my room. I had booked a Seaview Suite (Room 7303) which was like a 1 bedroom apartment. It was so spacious with a lounge, kitchen, shower room (with washing machine), separate bedroom plus a main bathroom with double sinks and huge Jacuzzi bath. There was a balcony with table and chairs, 2 sun loungers and direct views over the sea which were very mesmerising! The room was modern in decor and very quiet - just what I needed. Initially, I found the bed a little too firm so they kindly provided me with a mattress topper which made all the difference. They also offera pillow menu which is a great idea if you are fussy about those.
How was your programme and what did you eat?
The following morning, I met with the Detox specialist who conducted a body analysis. I started on the Master Detox programme for 4 days which consisted of juices and shakes and then I moved onto the Raw Food Detox which consisted of juices, fruit for breakfast, a gourmet food platter for lunch and a healthy salad for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious and I didn't feel deprived at all.
What were the others guests like?
I met lots of guests who were also doing the detox programme - they were a mix of solo travellers, friends and couples. Quite a few were repeat guests who raved about the place! You can interact with other guests as much or as little as you like and everyone I met was lovely and very like-minded.
What about the staff and the fitness options?
The team in the juice bar were all very friendly and really couldn't do enough for you. Sianji offers a fitness schedule which is suitable for all levels including morning and evening walks, yoga, meditation, Pilates, circuit training and aqua aerobics. I mostly enjoyed the walks; the area surrounding the hotel is pretty hilly (with incredible views) and some of the walks can be challenging. At the start, I struggled to walk up the hills but, by the end of the 10 days, I was running up them - all thanks to the encouragement of Serkan the in-house fitness instructor. How amazing is that?
What else did you like?
I really liked the beautiful setting. The grounds of the resort are very beautiful - well laid out with stunning views. It was the perfect location to embark on a detox as it's very uplifting and I felt very supported and encouraged by the whole wellness team. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough if you are looking to switch off and rejuvenate. I have been on a few detox holidays and this was by far the best value for money. I will definitely be returning!
