About Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort

You can expect plenty in the way of la dolce vita at Preidlhof, a serene, adults-only retreat in South Tyrol. Nestled in the foothills of the Texel Group Nature Park, it overlooks the dramatic Dolomites and surrounding valleys – a breathtaking backdrop for rest and renewal.

The award-winning spa is one of the world’s best, with a 16-storey tower that spans 5,000 metres and houses six pools, steam rooms, a salt room, meditation pavilion, and spaces for yoga and fitness. Wellness at Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort

Preidlhof offers a holistic wellness experience, centred on mindfulness, inner connection, and the release of physical and emotional tension. The approach combines soothing treatments with mindfulness techniques to quiet the mind, tune into the body’s innate wisdom, break bad habits and create lasting, healthy new ones. Extensive coaching support helps guests shift mindset, raise energy, and expand self-awareness.

The on-site medical spa is led by Dr Alexander Angerer, a physician specialising in complementary medicine, including Traditional Chinese Medicine and homeopathy, with a focus on preventative health. Guests can benefit from health checks designed to catch potential issues early, helping maintain long-term vitality.

The Spa and Sauna Tower spans more than 5,000 square metres and features six pools – including a heated outdoor pool, saltwater pool, heated infinity pool, and thermal indoor pool – alongside a whirlpool, saunas, steam bath, salt room, gym, functional fitness area, and multiple relaxation rooms with water beds, love seats, and swings. What’s on the menu?

Preidlhof’s intimate restaurant serves sophisticated South Tyrolean cuisine, with a seven-course à la carte menu included as part of the full board package. In warmer months, meals are served on the al fresco terrace. Lots of the ingredients are grown on the estate – that includes the grapes used for the hotel’s own wine!

Breakfast is generous, with hot and cold options, a live cooking station and a juicer so you can press your own fresh fruit and vegetables. In the afternoon, between 2pm and 5pm, light lunches are accompanied by live cooking demos.

For guests on wellness programmes, the Vita Lounge offers a more focused dining experience. This small, enclosed area within the restaurant is where the Wellness Healing Gourmet Menu is served. Created in collaboration with mindful eating experts, the cuisine is wholefood and predominantly plant-based, blending alkaline-based nutrition with South Tyrolean and Mediterranean influences. The menu is free from gluten, lactose, egg, soy and sugar, and changes daily. If a multi-course dinner feels like too much, portions can easily be served at half size.

Alcohol is available throughout the resort, and wine lovers will appreciate the Cellar House, home to around 400 labels from South Tyrol – widely thought of as one of Italy’s finest wine-producing regions.

A dedicated dining space for guests on health and wellness programmes, serving breakfast and dinner. Each evening brings a changing six-course menu made with the freshest seasonal ingredients, alongside gentle mindful eating prompts.

An elegant eatery serving a seven-course dinner included in the full board plan. The menu focuses on farm-to-fork South Tyrolean specialties, using ingredients grown on the estate – from vineyard wines and orchard jams to honey from the bee farm and fresh garden herbs.

Your accommodation at Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort

71 rooms are spread across two buildings, ranging from cosy singles to lavish penthouses. All are south facing to make the most of the sunshine, with most featuring flexible living spaces and spacious balconies where beds can be set up for starlit nights. 

Showers are equipped with light and audio systems, while bedrooms boast luxury box-spring beds with a Sleep-Fit-Health system for ultimate comfort.

To encourage restful nights, Wi-Fi is switched off from midnight to 7am, and rooms come thoughtfully equipped with hiking rucksacks.

Just so you know, a visitor’s tax of €3.60 per person, per night is payable at the hotel. This may be subject to change at any time, independently of Preidlhof.

LOCATION

Preidlhof is in the alpine village of Naturno, in South Tyrol, at the edge of the Texel Group Nature Park and surrounded by mountains, cypress, palms, olive trees and its own apple orchard. From here, views stretch across the valley to the outline of the Dolomites.

Naturno’s town centre is an easy walk from the hotel – expect cafés, bakeries and family-run stores – while Bolzano Airport is a 40 to 50-minute drive away. Verona lies two hours to the south, while Innsbruck is two hours to the north.


WHEN TO GO

South Tyrol is blessed with a year round Mediterranean climate. The temperature is generally warm throughout the year and rarely sees snow despite being surrounding by lofty mountains as it benefits from a unique microcllimate.

I have been to quite a few spa holidays but never before have I felt so good during my stay like at Preidlhof. Not only Preidlhof has wonderful spa services (facilities and staff), it has everything! Whatever you would like to do from relaxing e.g. enjoying thermal pools, sitting in sauna to active mountain biking, the hotel has got it …and more. For example , there are various types of saunas (spanning over 6 floors of Sauna Tower), more than 6 swimming pools etc. It would be a grave mistake not to mention the excellent cuisine ( bliss) and the beautiful peaceful surroundings. Despite being a five stars , multi award winning hotel , the Ladurner family continues to provide a heart warming, family atmosphere. I am saving up to go back again next year.
