Overview
Hotel Ermitage is a four-star retreat within the renowned Évian Resort, with a prime location above Lake Geneva. Surrounded by lush greenery and just 10 kilometres from the Alps, it’s the ideal base for outdoor adventure or complete relaxation.
Previously named France’s Best Wellness Retreat at the World Spa Awards, Spa Quatre Terres offers a full range of treatments designed to restore balance and energy. Guests can float between indoor and outdoor heated pools, relax in the sauna or steam room, and enjoy massages, facials and mineral-rich body therapies that draw on the region’s natural clays, stones and crystals.
Dining ranges from the hotel’s own La Table and La Bibliothèque bar to Michelin-starred restaurants and brasseries across the resort.
Elsewhere, there’s a never-ending list of things to do. Take to the tennis and padel courts, explore the multisport field, test your swing at the golf simulator, glide across Lake Geneva in a kayak, or, in winter, head for the slopes.
Families are welcome at Hotel Ermitage, with a daily kids’ club for children aged three to 17. Access to the wellness facilities is reserved for adults.

Wellness
Spa Quatre Terres is a sanctuary inspired by Évian’s natural mineral water. Named Best Wellness Retreat in France at the 2020 World Spa Awards, its mineral-rich treatments are designed to rebalance and recharge. Therapies feature elements like clay, stone, crystals, and earth extracts, and the menu includes a wide range of massages, facials, body wraps, scrubs and more.
Facilities include nine treatment rooms, two heated pools (indoor and outdoor), a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a relaxation lounge with herbal teas.
For those who prefer to stay active, there’s a fitness room, four tennis courts, two padel courts, a multisport field and a golf simulator, as well as access to the Évian Resort Golf Club & Academy. The Sport & Culture team is on hand to help arrange equipment and lessons.
Children can use the outdoor spa pool, though between 12pm and 4pm it’s reserved for quiet swimming, with no access for under-10s during these hours.

Hotel Ermitage has 80 bright, spacious rooms and suites across four floors. Double beds can be converted into twins, and most rooms feature a balcony or loggia to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Suites provide extra space, large balconies, and sun loungers with stunning views over Lake Geneva. All rooms come with luxurious L’Occitane en Provence bathroom amenities. Select rooms are accessible for guests with mobility needs.
Please note a city tax of €2.25 per adult, per day, is payable at the hotel.

What’s on the menu
Hotel Ermitage has one restaurant and one bar on-site. La Table is a relaxed, bistro-style space with a lovely terrace set above the treetops. The menu leans into the region, with dishes built around Lake Geneva fish, cheeses from the Ferme des Chalets d’Oche, and charcuterie from Simon.
Guests also have access to the wider Évian Resort’s restaurants, which include fine dining, Michelin-star and brasserie-style options.
Just so you know, stays are offered on a room-only or bed and breakfast basis, with lunch and dinner available on a pay-as-you-go basis at any of the resort restaurants.
Location
Set within 19 acres of beautifully restored parkland, Hotel Ermitage overlooks Lake Geneva and sits at the foot of the Alps in the picturesque town of Évian-les-Bains. Just a short walk away, you’ll find a charming lakeside promenade, cobbled streets, a bustling marina, and a lively summer market.
The location is perfect for outdoor adventures – whether you're into hiking, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, or golf. The nearest ski resort is just 15 minutes away, and if you're driving, you can hit the slopes in Montreux or Les Portes du Soleil in just 45 minutes. Geneva Airport is one hour and 15 minutes away, and helicopter transfers can be arranged (a 15-minute trip).
A complimentary shuttle service makes it easy to get around, running daily between Évian town centre, the golf club, casino, and spa – from 7am until the casino closes. From May to September, you can also hop on Évian-les-Bains’ free funicular railway, which connects the town centre with the upper part of Évian and the nearby Hôtel Royal.
