Galomar has an oceanfront setting on Madeira’s sleepy south-east coast, just 15 minutes’ drive from Cristiano Ronaldo Funchal International Airport and around 18 from the capital, Funchal. Head here to explore the cobbled old town, sip wine in atmospheric bodegas and catch the cable car up to the city’s famous Botanical Gardens.
When to go
Madeira is full of microclimates but stays warm almost all year round. Temperatures in winter are 18 – 22 degrees and in summer 24 – 26 degrees.
