About Almyra

Almyra, meaning ‘taste of the sea’, is a luxe oceanfront retreat that’s perfectly positioned in the heart of Paphos. There’s a small pocket of sand opposite, and the tavernas and cocktail bars of the harbour are within walking distance, so you’re well placed for exploring. Interiors, meanwhile, are stylish and ultra contemporary – as you’d expect from a Design Hotels member.

Relaxation is the guiding theme here, and guests can recharge their batteries at the award-winning Almyra Spa. A spotless sanctuary spread over two floors, it’s got an outdoor infinity pool and a lengthy treatment menu. Other noteworthy facilities include three atmospheric restaurants, more sea-facing pools scattered throughout the grounds, and a splash pool and kids’ club for little ones.

Wellness at Almyra

Almyra’s exclusive spa packages are designed to restore balance, boost fitness, and improve sleep – leaving guests feeling renewed from the inside out. If you prefer to go à la carte, the spa menu offers a great choice of body treatments, signature rituals and results-driven facials. 

Almyra uses organic brands such as Voya, renowned for harnessing the healing power of seaweed, and QMS Medicosmetics, which blends advanced technology with expert formulations for healthy, younger-looking skin.

Spa facilities include six treatment rooms, three spa suites, a sauna, steam room, indoor swimming pool and outdoor infinity pool, as well as a gym, relaxation area, and hair and beauty salon. For those looking to stay active, there’s a weekly schedule of fitness and yoga classes, and private sessions in yoga, personal training, swimming and tennis can be arranged on request.

You can also head next door to Annabelle to make the most of the neighbouring spa facilities – some of the classes are held here. While the spa is adults only, children are permitted to use the indoor pool in bad weather.

What’s on the menu?

Almyra offers a tempting mix of dining experiences, from traditional Cypriot meze to Japanese specialities and international favourites. Guests on a half board basis can enjoy global fare at the hotel’s buffet eatery. For something lighter, the adults-only Eauzone at the spa serves wholesome bites alongside fresh juices and calming teas and is open for breakfast and lunch during the summer months.

The main restaurant lays on buffet spreads at breakfast and dinner with a focus on seasonal local produce. Expect Cypriot staples like fresh fish and grilled meats along with round-the-world dishes to suit all palates.

There are 189 rooms and suites at the Almyra. All are bright and spacious with floor-to-ceiling patio windows and comfortable furnishings. Most of the rooms are located in the main building, while the Aethon Premium Sea View rooms are in the adults-only wing, closer to the spa.

LOCATION

Almyra has a prime setting in lively Paphos, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a palm-fringed boulevard, and just a few minutes’ walk from its taverna-lined harbour. There’s a small sweep of sand opposite the hotel, and countless larger options, such as beautiful Coral Bay, just along the coast. You've also got easy access to four 18-hole golf courses here.

Paphos Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel, while Larnaca Airport is two hours away.

Lovely hotel, although when we were there it was busy with families we were able to go to the lovely adult only spa area with outdoor pool which is quiet and peaceful. We had a Aethon Premium Sea View room which had a lovely view of the sea and harbour area, close to the spa and very quiet. The restaurants provided delicious food and the staff were friendly and helpful.

I had looked at various options for booking the Almyra hotel in Paphos and felt like the Well-being Escapes packaged offered good value for money. It lived up to expectations, room was lovely with a great sea view and included spa treatments and lunch were excellent. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and knew package I was booked on. My stay at the Almyra was just what I needed. Relaxing and in beautiful surroundings. I stayed in the Sea View Verandah room (courtesy of a free upgrade), stepping out of the room and seeing the sea was breathtaking. The hotel grounds were lovely, especially in the evenings when it was all lit up. The spa treatments I had were amazing, the treatment rooms upstairs felt much nicer than the one I first went to downstairs. Of all the treatments, the rose oil facial was my favourite, it was just divine, my skin looked amazing and the puffiness i had around my eyes had gone down considerably. All 4 therapists were amazing! Lots of choice at breakfast and dinner, great salads! I enjoyed the Yoga classes on the outdoor platform looking out at the sea. Some points to note; When I booked this break, it was advertised that there was a variety of activities available at the hotel, eg. Pilates and aqua aerobics - however that was not the case, they only had yoga 3 days a week. Also, I arrived quite late at night (due to a delay leaving Stanstead), once I checked in I was directed to my room, but no-one actually took me to the room, or helped with my luggage. A tad disappointing. Overall though my stay was great, the service, food and location was just perfect for what I wanted. :-)

Charming hotel with fabulous sea views and helpful, friendly staff. Well located, only a short stroll to the hub of Paphos. Food is OK. Rooms are OK/good - they are refurbishing some at the moment. Worth upgrading if you can. Spa is excellent. Gym has amazing views to take your mind off being in a gym.
