About AMARA

AMARA is a luxury retreat on the sun-kissed coastline east of Limassol, moments from the ancient ruins of Amathus. Here, every room comes with a sea view, and interiors are chic and contemporary, with lots of marble, soft woods and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the views.

You’ll find a 3,000-metre spa at the heart of the resort – a soothing space for thermal experiences and restorative treatments. There are also four swimming pools, including an infinity number and a saltwater adults-only option, and activities that span yoga, tennis, and watersports.

Dining here is a real talking point, with standout restaurants led by world-renowned chefs: the Japanese-Peruvian creations of Matsuhisa Limassol, the Michelin-starred Italian dishes at Ristorante Locatelli and the elegant, waterfront seafood experience at NEREA. Add a chic rooftop bar into the mix, and you’re well catered for.

Just so you know, this is a family friendly hotel, with a kids’ club and babysitting services available on request.

Wellness at AMARA

AMARA’s spa spans 3,000 metres. Set among the archaeological remains of the ancient Amathus Kingdom, it pairs time-honoured Mediterranean rituals with modern expertise. The lengthy treatment menu includes facials by The Organic Pharmacy and Cosmedix, massages, body treatments, mani-pedis, waxing, hairdressing and bespoke options for men, couples and children. Tailored wellness programmes span yoga, Pilates, detox goals and more.

With any treatment, guests gain full access to the aroma sauna, adults-only seawater pool, and a complete thermal suite, including tepidarium, caldarium, laconium, ice fountain, and a tranquil relaxation area – plus a juice bar and cosy reading nook.

Additional facilities include a 25-metre indoor pool with whirlpool, mixed sauna, fitness studio, spinning room, and tennis courts. Private sessions in yoga, Pilates, and personal training are also available.

What’s on the menu?

AMARA offers five standout restaurants, each with its own signature style. Matsuhisa Limassol serves Japanese-Peruvian dishes including NOBU favourites. Ristorante Locatelli offers Michelin-star Italian cuisine by Chef Giorgio Locatelli. And NEREA dishes up fresh seafood by the water’s edge. The Dining Room highlights Cypriot specialities, while All Day Dining is the place for hearty buffet breakfasts.

You’ll find four bars here – main, pool, rooftop and lobby. Enjoy tea, coffee, pastries and light homemade snacks in the lobby bar, or head to the rooftop bar for stellar sea views and expertly mixed cocktails.

LOCATION

AMARA has an enviable beachfront setting on Cyprus’ south coast, just under a half-hour drive from the cosmopolitan city of Limassol and less than an hour from the Troodos Mountains. The nearest airport is Larnaca, around 40 minutes away, while Paphos Airport takes around 50 minutes to reach.

Cyprus enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate. The average summer temperature is 30 degrees with July and August being the hottest months. The average winter temperate is 16 degrees and the coolest months are January and February.
