About Hôtel Ermitage – Evian Resort

Hôtel Ermitage – Evian Resort is a four-star retreat within the renowned Évian Resort, with a prime location above Lake Geneva. Surrounded by lush greenery and just 10 kilometres from the Alps, it’s the ideal base for outdoor adventure or complete relaxation.

Previously named France’s Best Wellness Retreat at the World Spa Awards, Spa Quatre Terres offers a full range of treatments designed to restore balance and energy. Guests can float between indoor and outdoor heated pools, relax in the sauna or steam room, and enjoy massages, facials and mineral-rich body therapies that draw on the region’s natural clays, stones and crystals.

Dining ranges from the hotel’s own La Table and La Bibliothèque bar to Michelin-starred restaurants and brasseries across the resort.

Elsewhere, there’s a never-ending list of things to do. Take to the tennis and padel courts, explore the multisport field, test your swing at the golf simulator, glide across Lake Geneva in a kayak, or, in winter, head for the slopes.

Families are welcome at Hotel Ermitage, with a daily kids’ club for children aged three to 17. 

Wellness at Hôtel Ermitage – Evian Resort

Spa Quatre Terres is a sanctuary inspired by Évian’s natural mineral water. Named Best Wellness Retreat in France at the 2020 World Spa Awards, its mineral-rich treatments are designed to rebalance and recharge. Therapies feature elements like clay, stone, crystals, and earth extracts, and the menu includes a wide range of massages, facials, body wraps, scrubs and more.

Facilities include nine treatment rooms, two heated pools (indoor and outdoor), a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a relaxation lounge with herbal teas.

For those who prefer to stay active, there’s a fitness room, three tennis courts, two padel courts, and three pickleball courses, as well as access to the Évian Resort Golf Club & Academy. Le Bureau des Guides, hotel's specialised sports and culture team, curates every outdoor activity, taking care of everything from equipment to tailored instruction.

Every day, a fun time is reserved for children from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm in hotel's aquatic areas. Outside this time slot, the tranquility of the spaces is maintained for everyone’s comfort.

What’s on the menu?

Hotel Ermitage has one restaurant and one bar on-site. La Table is a relaxed, bistro-style space with a lovely terrace set above the treetops. The menu leans into the region, with dishes built around Lake Geneva fish, cheeses from the Ferme des Chalets d’Oche, and charcuterie from Simon.

Guests also have access to the wider Évian Resort’s restaurants, which include fine dining, Michelin-star and brasserie-style options.

Just so you know, stays are offered on bed and breakfast basis, with lunch and dinner available on a pay-as-you-go basis at any of the resort restaurants.

La Chaise Lounge
Located by the pool, this laid-back spot serves fresh juices, smoothies, frappés and a selection of light snacks. It's open daily during the summer season, from May through to August.

La Table
Hotel Ermitage's main restaurant, which focuses on local and seasonal ingredients. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Brunch is served every Sunday from midday to 2.30pm.

La Bibliotheque
La Bibliothèque is Hotel Ermitage’s bar – a cosy, inviting space to settle into at any time of day. It’s open from 10.30am through to midnight, with a selection of snacks served from noon until 9pm.

Your accommodation at Hôtel Ermitage – Evian Resort

Hotel Ermitage has 80 bright, spacious rooms and suites across four floors. Double beds can be converted into twins, and most rooms feature a balcony or loggia to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Suites provide extra space, large balconies, and sun loungers with stunning views over Lake Geneva. All rooms come with luxurious L’Occitane en Provence bathroom amenities. Select rooms are accessible for guests with mobility needs.

Please note a city tax of €2.25 per adult, per day, is payable at the hotel.

These top-floor rooms have a sloped ceiling and are ideal for a solo traveller or couple. LOCATION

Set within 19 acres of beautifully restored parkland, Hotel Ermitage overlooks Lake Geneva and sits at the foot of the Alps in the picturesque town of Évian-les-Bains. Just a short walk away, you’ll find a charming lakeside promenade, cobbled streets, a bustling marina, and a lively summer market.

The location is perfect for outdoor adventures – whether you're into hiking, mountain biking, climbing, horse riding, or golf. The nearest ski resort is just 15 minutes away, and if you're driving, you can hit the slopes in Montreux or Les Portes du Soleil in just 45 minutes.

A complimentary shuttle service makes it easy to get around, running daily between Évian town centre, the golf club, casino, and spa – from 7am until the casino closes. From May to September, you can also hop on Évian-les-Bains’ free funicular railway, which connects the town centre with the upper part of Évian and the nearby Hôtel Royal.

Geneva, the nearest airport, is around an hour’s drive. Helicopter transfers can be arranged and take around 15 minutes. 

WHEN TO GO

This part of France has a moderate continental climate. Best time to visit to enjoy outdoor activities is from May to September. Winter is perfect for activities such as skiing.
