Italy is a natural choice for a wellness escape, with its mix of lakes, mountains and fresh, restorative landscapes. Known for a balanced lifestyle and nourishing Mediterranean cuisine, it’s no surprise the standard of wellbeing retreats here is so high. In this post, we introduce you to two properties new to our collextion, whose expert-led programmes are designed to help you feel reset and re-energised, without missing out on the pleasure of Italy's world-famous cuisine.

Preidlhof Luxury DolceVita Resort may be well established, but its approach to wellness feels anything but traditional. Set on a hillside in South Tyrol, the views across the valley are really spectacular, with activities like forest bathing and mindful walks along the river making the most of the setting.
The focus here is on meaningful, long-term change. Through guided coaching sessions, you’ll explore techniques designed to help you better understand your body, emotions and patterns of thinking, with the aim of shifting your mindset in a more positive direction. It’s particularly well suited to those at a turning point, or looking for renewed clarity and motivation. There are also dedicated programmes for weight management and menopause support.
Medical guidance is led by Alexander Angerer, who offers personalised check-ups and advice on preventative health. Dining is a key part of the experience, too, with an emphasis on mindful eating and locally sourced ingredients, much of it grown on-site.
The spa is extensive, and includes six pools, while the surrounding area offers plenty to explore, from hiking and mountain biking to skiing, or daytrips to nearby hotspots like Merano, Venice and Verona.

Palazzo di Varignana sits in the hills above Bologna, within a restored 18th-century villa that captures that famous understated Italian glamour. The landscaped gardens are lovely, offering a calm, beautifully maintained setting to unwind.
You can enjoy it purely as a spa escape, with newly refurbished facilities including five outdoor pools, saunas and extensive hydrotherapy circuits. For a more structured approach, the ‘In Forma’ programmes are led by Doctor Annamaria Acquaviva, focusing on improving lifestyle and supporting metabolic health through a blend of science-led and holistic techniques.
Menus are tailored to your individual needs while on the programme, while other guests can explore the hotel’s three restaurants, each showcasing the best of regional Italian cuisine.
With first-class cuisine, beautiful locations and decadent interiors, our Italy retreats are the ultimate setting for a reset. Explore the full collection via the link below.
