About Zulal Wellness Resort - Discovery

Nestled between the desert and sea on Qatar’s northernmost coast, Zulal Wellness Resort is the Middle East’s first destination created entirely around wellbeing. It’s operated in partnership with Thailand’s acclaimed Chiva-Som, whose decades of experience in health-led retreats underpin Zulal’s approach to care, nutrition, movement and treatments.

It’s an expansive, design-led resort that’s thoughtfully arranged into two areas. Zulal Serenity offers a calm, adults-only environment for deeper wellness immersion, while Zulal Discovery caters to families and those seeking a more accessible introduction to healthy living – without a specific goal in mind.

The wellness facilities are extensive, with separate indoor and outdoor pools for men and women, an Arctic snow cave, a Himalayan salt room and more than 40 treatment rooms. When you’re not enjoying R&R, you can try activities like watersports and stargazing or simply soak up the views from the hotel’s private golden beach.

Just so you know, Zulal Discovery welcomes kids and families and they can enjoy a dedicated wellness programme and facilities suitable for all ages. 

Wellness at Zulal Wellness Resort - Discovery

The Zulal Wellness philosophy combines traditional Arabic and Islamic healing practices with holistic remedies. The Discovery Retreat is tailored for those beginning their journey towards a healthier lifestyle, offering a safe space to explore physical, mental and emotional balance. With a full schedule of activities, dietary guidance, and therapeutic programmes, guests leave feeling stronger, more resilient, and rejuvenated.

The spa menu includes massages, body treatments, energy-focused sessions to release blockages, facials, and guided movement classes. 

Facilities include separate indoor pools for men and women, an ozone-treated outdoor swimming pool, and a man-made lagoon that runs through the Discovery wing. There are also dedicated saunas, steam rooms, gyms, and spaces for fitness classes, yoga, Pilates, and dance.

What’s on the menu?

Eating well is central to Zulal’s philosophy, with all meals designed to encourage lasting healthy habits and created with fresh, locally sourced produce from nearby farms.

Dining is split between the adults-only Serenity block and the family friendly Discovery block, with several outlets on offer – from fine dining and beachside cafés to all-day family restaurants. Special children’s menus feature both international and Arabic cuisine, so little ones are well catered for.

Please note, alcohol is strictly prohibited throughout the resort.

Aizoon
Aizoon offers a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including signature Arabic and international dishes, with hot and cold options. The children’s menu will appeal to little ones and boost their energy.

This contemporary beach club serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu and refreshing fresh fruit mocktails. Guests can watch the chef grill the day’s catch at the open-air station or build their own salad from the bar.

Your accommodation at Zulal Wellness Resort - Discovery

All 120 rooms and suites in the Discovery wing are purpose-built for families, with interiors inspired by traditional Qatari village motifs, featuring clean lines and natural textures. Rooms are set between the desert, the sea and the resort’s lagoon, with each offering views of the surrounding natural landscape.

Zulal Wellness Resort stretches across an impressive 280,000  metres at Qatar’s northernmost point, where rolling desert plains meet a private sandy shoreline along the Arabian Gulf. The spa treatments were incredible, and the standard of service throughout the resort was truly exemplary. The pools are completely chemical-free, using filtered seawater and freshwater — a real standout feature. I booked through Wellbeing Escapes with a consultant named Rebecca, who was fantastic. She took care of every detail and ensured the trip was perfectly tailored to my needs. Zulal is a truly incredible destination. The rooms where lovely and spacious with everything you could want in them. They were spotlessly clean. The three restaurants were all unimprovable - probably the best food we've ever eaten. The design and look of the gardens and all the outdoor space was beautiful.
