Haritha Villas + Spa
Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka
Overview
Haritha Villas + Spa is a boutique hillside hideaway in the Sri Lankan jungle. Peering through thick greenery teeming with wildlife, it’s a family friendly resort that feels deeply connected to nature, but with sleek, contemporary architecture that contrasts beautifully with the tropical setting.
Wellbeing is a central part of any stay here. The in-house Ayurvedic doctor recommends tailored therapies and meal plans, ensuring treatments and cuisine align with your needs and goals. Herbal baths, sound bowl sessions, acupuncture – it’s all part of the line-up. There are two large treatment cabins, along with spa essentials like a steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi.
Other facilities include an infinity pool overlooking the valley, which comes with a side-order of chic daybeds to soak up the sunshine and make the most of the views. All villas have their own pool, too, while the colonial-style mansions have one shared between two (these are recommended for families). Whichever you stay in, you’ll be assigned a dedicated Villa Master who’ll sort everything from meals to day trips.

Wellness
Ayurveda plays an integral part at this resort’s jungle spa. Every element is designed to support mind–body–spirit balance, with an in-house Ayurvedic doctor guiding your stay and tailoring treatments to your individual needs. The resort offers results-focused programmes of various lengths to address specific concerns, and for each programme an Ayurvedic chef prepares meals to suit your dosha (body constitution) and goals. Don’t want to do a comprehensive programme? Simply pick and choose the treatments you like.Speaking of treatments, the menu includes a wide range of therapies rooted in Ayurveda as well as international techniques. Most treatments use 100% natural, handmade products formulated by blending tea tree extracts with spices and herbs.
Spa facilities include a sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and a fully equipped gym. There’s also a yoga pavilion overlooking the calm waters of Haritha Lake and a nearby monastery, where guests are welcome to spend time meditating. A nail bar and a Vichy shower are available at an additional cost.

What’s on the menu
The View offers an unscripted dining experience and a farm-to-table approach. Dishes are prepared with care, balancing clean flavours with local ingredients – from the resort’s own fruit and vegetables to produce sourced from nearby growers. Each morning, the chefs visit the local fish markets to select the catch of the day. If you have a sweet tooth, the homemade ice-cream is not to be missed.
Breakfast is included in your stay and follows an anytime, anywhere concept, giving you complete freedom over when and where you’d like to eat. Chefs can also design bespoke menus based on your preferences, Ayurvedic recommendations or wellness goals.
If you’re planning a Panchakarma or any Ayurveda-focused programme, we’d recommend booking full board to get the most from the experience.
