Wellness
This retreat is a brainchild of Marcello Murzilli, who felt a strong connection with the place and wanted to create something special. After 4 years of works and restoration Eremito was born in 2013, successfully reviving its authentic original splendour. Today, Eremito serves as a sanctuary for those who need safe and welcoming space for introspection and deep soul searching.
Eremito is one of the first digital detox hotels in Italy with sustainability in its core - using solar panels and a photovoltaic system, while its main source of lighting is candlelight.
The relaxation area is truly a place to behold with its rock carvings, stone ceilings and comforting Gregorian chants that serenade you as background music. Here you will also find a warm water pool, Jacuzzi and a Turkish bath as well as a fully equipped yoga room which overlooks the unspoiled nature of the Unesco Reserve.
Massage treatments can also be enjoyed at Eremito but must be pre-booked before arrival.

Nothing about this retreat is ordinary, so don't expect to sleep in an ordinary room either! Instead, you will stay in a “celluzze“ - rooms, which were used by the hermits in years past. There are 18 rooms in total. These are not luxurious rooms but have all recently undergone renovation, offering you all you need for a comfortable stay.
The stone building both keeps warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It was renovated using modern green building techniques, so the feel of the medieval monastery remains alive and present.
Rooms are simple but cosy with French-size bed (bedding is made of hand-made hemp yarn), private bathrooms and a comfortable seat and desk in stone next to the window overlooking the green valley or the rose garden.
There is no air-conditioning as the temperature of the rooms is always the same. There is under floor heating for colder months.
Rooms don't have TVs or wifi connection.
What’s on the menu
During winter, all meals are served in Refectory - a communal room with a large stone fireplace. When the weather warms up, outdoor dining surrounded by trees and the woodland is available.
Please note that dinner is experienced in silence.
