Palmaïa – The House of AïA is a secluded Riviera Maya retreat where jungle meets beach. Here, holistic wellness takes the form of ancient rituals, energy practices, sound therapy and mindful movement. All complemented by plant-focused gourmet cuisine, infinity pools, and stylish suites inspired by the natural surroundings.
Wellbeing here is experiential and inspired by ancient Maya traditions, offering guests the space to reset and reconnect at their own pace. The holistic programme features more than 50 weekly sessions – from yoga and meditation to sound rituals, cacao, and forgiveness ceremonies – all guided by experienced practitioners.
Nutritious cuisine is shaped around a unique Nourishing Biome programme, where gourmet dishes are crafted for maximum nutrition and enjoyment. Other highlights include four infinity pools, mangrove-hidden Jacuzzis, a beach club, juice bar, and stylish Balinese daybeds.
Children are welcome here – there’s dedicated family accommodation and a mini aqua park, plus activities tailored to families and little ones.
For deeper relaxation, Atlantis – The Spa in the Jungle is a sanctuary shrouded in nature. Treatments focus on restoring balance by working with the body’s nine energy centres, supporting harmony and vitality. These are optional and charged separately.
The spa includes three individual treatment rooms, two couples suites and outdoor jungle relaxation areas, including a yoga studio and ritual deck. More than 50 classes are held weekly across indoor and open-air locations.
There are 234 suites, each with a furnished private balcony and sweeping Caribbean Sea views. Interiors are clean and modern, but with handcrafted wooden accents for a cosy, rustic feel. Built cruelty-free, they use no leather, feather bedding or animal-tested products.
There are eight suite layouts for solo travellers, couples and families, including swim-up and beachfront options. Families can choose bunk-bed rooms or family suites centrally located near the kids’ mini aqua park and Su Casa Restaurant. The resort also has an adults-only accommodation area, with a dedicated pool and pool bar.
This beachfront retreat sits on the Riviera Maya, close to Playa del Carmen yet nicely tucked away from the tourist crowds. Cancún International Airport is around 50 minutes away by road, while bohemian Tulum and its iconic Maya temples are approximately 45 minutes’ drive. The ancient Maya site of Chichén Itzá can be reached in around two and a half hours, so day trips are possible.
