The spa is one of just six Chenot wellness destinations around the world and based on the famous philosophy of Henri Chenot. With the help of cutting-edge therapies and diagnostics, the aim is to release the body of toxins and bring it back to full vitality, slowing down the ageing process.
Interiors are decadent with traditional Middle Eastern flourishes, with French-inspired rooms designed by renowned architect, Jacques Garcia. Other talking points include a sleek Olympic-sized swimming pool, a choice of restaurants – one overseen by a Michelin-starred chef – and regular shows featuring the majestic resident horses.
Just so know, the Selman is family friendly with a kids’ club for four to 12-year-olds (under fours must be accompanied). Children under 16 aren’t available in the spa without an adult.
Selman Marrakech is home to the exclusive Escape Vitalité Chenot Spa, one of only six locations worldwide. This state-of-the-art wellness hub offers treatments rooted in Biontology, the core of the Chenot Method, which combines wellness, beauty, and fitness to restore energy and youthful radiance.
Chenot treatments focus on removing toxins accumulated from modern life’s stress and unhealthy habits, helping to prevent long-term damage. The method blends traditional Chinese healing with cutting-edge advances in regenerative, anti-ageing, and preventive medicine.
In addition to the Chenot treatments, the spa offers traditional Moroccan experiences like hammam, and tailored programmes focus on goals like fitness, relaxation and body sculpting. Private exercise sessions, including personal training, yoga, Pilates, boxing, and more, can be arranged for an additional cost.
Spa amenities include an 80-metre-long pool and a hair salon.
There are 50 rooms in total, stylish and contemporary with authentic Arabic accents – think luxe fabrics in jewel tones and dark-wood furnishings. You’ve also got the option of a villa (there are five on-site). Villa guests have breakfast and return airport transfers included along with a butler service and VIP amenities like a fruit basket, Champagne and Moroccan pastries.
Just so you know, there’s a city tax payable on resort for all room types at 44 Moroccan Dirhams per person per day.
The Selman is really well located, away from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech and surrounded by mountain peaks and rolling desert dunes, with a golf course close by (guests have access to it). Despite its peaceful setting, it’s just a 15-minute drive from the Red City’s atmospheric medina, full of market stalls, snake charmers and street food. Marrakech Airport is even closer, just 10 minutes from the hotel.
Ask the team about local excursions, which include treks in the Atlas Mountains, visits to sleepy Essaouira and vintage car tours.
