About Longevity Health & Wellness Hotel

Like the name suggests, Longevity Health & Wellness Hotel is a modern, adults-only retreat dedicated to long-term wellbeing. Perched high on a hillside above the town of Alvor, it’s got a striking, wave-like design that follows the landscape, and has spectacular views across Alvor Bay.

Facilities include a compact rooftop pool, a duo of restaurants serving local specialities along with global favourites, plus an airy lounge bar that’s perfectly positioned for sunset. It’s the wellness centre, though, that draws most guests here. The hotel takes an integrated approach to preventative and regenerative medicine, combining medicinal treatments with holistic therapies. There’s something for everyone, with programmes spanning juice detox, weight management, mindfulness, fitness, anti-ageing and more.

For guests who prefer a more relaxed stay, the hotel also offers lighter, spa-focused options without the need to commit to a full medical programme.

Health programmes include in-depth diagnostics and check-ups, and are overseen by doctors and specialists. Most programmes start from five nights, with lighter options available, and focus on everything from hormones to weight loss.

The facilities are extensive and include a detox wet area with an indoor plunge pool, heated pool with jets, sauna, steam room, hammam with chromotherapy, ice fountain, sensation showers, reflexology path, Epsom salt room and relaxation spaces. A state-of-the-art gym, private training room, outdoor terrace for group classes, yoga dome and on-site hairdresser are also part of the line-up.

What’s on the menu?

Menus at Longevity are designed around the nutritional and phytochemical properties of food. The aim is to maximise health benefits without compromising on flavour.

Dishes contain fresh ingredients sourced from local markets and free from added chemicals. Vegetarian, gluten-free, high protein and low-glycaemic diets are all catered for, and juice detoxes are also available. Breakfast is served buffet-style with a wide range of healthy choices, while lunch and dinner are à la carte.

Most programmes include full board meals, including a healthy breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks, plus lunch and dinner. Others centre on a liquid diet made up of shakes, juices and soups. A wide selection of loose-leaf teas is available throughout the day (included for guests booked on a health programme).

Alcohol consumption is gently discouraged in keeping with the hotel’s wellness philosophy.

Pure Cafe
The hotel’s main dining venue has a rooftop setting and panoramic views of Alvor Bay. Along with breakfast, lunch and dinner, organic beer and wine are available on request. A dedicated tea corner is available for guests throughout the day.

Mediterranico Restaurant by Longevity
This eatery is located on the ground floor and open during high season (or for group dining). Menus spotlight Mediterranean-inspired, health-focused cuisine using fresh, local ingredients, in line with Longevity’s nutritional ethos.

Chill Out & Relaxation Tea Lounge
This is a quiet, intimate space on the ground floor, designed for unwinding between treatments. With seating for up to 10 guests, it’s the perfect spot to relax with a healthy cup of tea or a light snack in a peaceful setting.

Longevity has 70 rooms and suites, with contemporary and eco-conscious interiors.

Most rooms feature a glass shower cubicle within the bedroom, with a pull-down curtain available for privacy when sharing. Longevity Suites have a different layout and offer greater privacy.

A municipal tourist tax is payable locally at reception on check-in.

LOCATION

The hotel is on a hillside in the picturesque village of Alvor, with panoramic views across Alvor Bay and the surrounding Monchique Mountains. The region is known for its beautiful beaches, fresh Atlantic air and excellent seafood. The village centre is less than a 10-minute drive away, and it’s a 15-minute walk to the golden sands of Praia de Alvor. Faro Airport is around one hour away.

WHEN TO GO

The Algarve benefits from a Mediterranean climate and weather is generally mild all year round. The hottest months are June to September.

An excellent hotel with great staff good facilities and a variety of classes.Location is about a 25 minute walk to the beach. No garden. Roof top pool small and not heated but lovely if you enjoy cold water swimming 🏊‍♀️ .👌

Amazing spa, very wide range of treatments and all of excellent quality. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a holistic review of their health, and the right treatments for a reset. Only slight downside was the food, very healthy but not much variety and dining room isn’t very inviting in colder weather. All the staff were lovely and extremely friendly
