- Visa costs: $40 per person
- The mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): $100 per person per day. The SDF is levied by the Government of Bhutan to all tourists visiting Bhutan and is used to upgrade infrastructure and services, elevate tourists’ experiences, and maintain carbon-neutral tourism.
- Costs for hiring a car, driver, and a licensed guide if guests would wish to visit places outside the Sanctuary, such as the Tiger’s Nest or Thimphu.
- Entry fees which differ per site.
- Transport to and from the international airport in Paro
IMPORTANT: As of 2023 the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is $100 per night per person ($50 per night for kids aged 6 -12 years, below 6 do not pay SDF) for all tourists and this is not included in your retreat price. This cost is going directly to the Bhutanese government. This cost will be paid during the visa application. You can apply for visa online and you will also need a health insurance.
Guests can now arrange their own trip, but will still have to make use of an official registered guide and hotel. Hotel's in-house travel agency Bhutan Soul Travel can make these arrangements. We recommend to book a car, driver and a guide with the hotel to ensure a smooth trip. The approximate costs for a car, driver, guide is $100++ per day per couple are will be added to your hotel bill.
