Wellness is central to the experience here. The COMO Shambhala Retreat combines expert Asian-based therapies, yoga, Pilates and the Maldives’ only hydrotherapy pool with the turquoise horizon as a backdrop. Marine life flourishes here, too – rainbow-hued house reefs and dive sites make snorkelling and diving tip-top, often guided by resident experts.
As for dining? Expect beautifully presented, locally sourced produce and contemporary spins on Mediterranean and Indian fare. There’s also a relaxed bar for cocktails and sunsets.
The resort welcomes all ages, with a variety of activities for children, including family yoga and a dedicated kids’ club. The spa is restricted to guests aged 16 and over.
Despite its small size, COMO Cocoa Island has an impressive range of wellness facilities, with a third of the resort dedicated to the COMO Shambhala Spa. Treatments are offered in open-air pavilions overlooking the lagoon, or in a private couples’ pavilion shrouded by tropical foliage. The resort is home to the Maldives’ only hydrotherapy pool, which comes with high-pressure jets to ease tension and promote relaxation.
The open-air yoga pavilion provides a 360-degree view of the island, and the fully equipped gym, complimentary group fitness classes, and Pilates reformer and Cadillac equipment make it easy to keep up with workouts. A variety of Ayurvedic and Asian-inspired therapies complete the offering.
You can choose from programmes focused on the like of beauty, sleep and active lifestyle, or stay on a B&B basis and simply select your favourite wellness offerings to add on.
Please note, a Green Tax of $12 per person per day is payable at the resort.
The nearest airport is Malé, which is a 40-minute group speedboat ride from the island.
Essential maintenance at the arrival (north side) jetty is scheduled from August 1st to October 15th 2026. The works will be carried out with minimal visual and noise impact, and no disruption to the overall guest experience is anticipated.
