About MasQi - The Energy House

MasQi, The Energy House is a boutique, adults‑only yoga and meditation retreat set in a beautifully restored 19th‑century farmhouse in the heart of the Sierra de Mariola Natural Park. Surrounded by forest, open countryside and mountain air, the setting feels wonderfully removed from everyday life – so it’s ideal if you’re looking to escape and switch off.

Days here unfold with daily yoga and meditation in the retreat’s striking dome, restorative walks through the park, and moments of stillness by the outdoor pool or in the gardens.

MasQi’s intimate scale and gentle rhythm make it especially appealing for solo travellers looking for space, reflection and connection. With bio‑gourmet cuisine rooted in macrobiotic principles and holistic therapies drawn from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and energy work, this is a place for deep renewal and mindful living.

MasQi Energy House is designed to support transformation on every level – physical, mental and emotional. Treatments draw on time-honoured traditions such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, which sit alongside contemporary therapies like kinesiology. As well as massages and facials, a range of energy therapies is available, along with one-to-one sessions focused on health and emotional wellbeing, from mentoring and macrobiotic consultations to tarot readings and natal chart interpretations.

A stay that will provide you with new tools to control your stress levels, calm your mind, improve your health and fitness, recover sleep and smile. Goodbye stress, hello calm, hello life! This new program is ideal for you if you suffer from stress in your daily life, especially if it is related to the work environment. Our main objective is to provide you with innovative tools to help you fight it effectively. For 8 days we will combine specific workshops to improve your lifestyle: nutrition, breathing, meditation etc., along with a bio-gourmet diet based on macrobiotics.

Change your Life
There are times that we are aware that we need a real change in our life. We know that something is not going well and we want to do something about it. You have the solution, but we need three weeks to work together. 21 days is the necessary period to modify habits and images that we assume as normal, but that are often harmful. We are going to guide you and give you all the tools to succeed. For this we will prepare a spectacular program in which through yoga, meditation, mentoring, energy therapies and massages you will balance body and mind. You can enjoy nature and benefit from its healing effect and see how day after day you add strength, energy and health. We want to inspire you and open a new door to a better life.

Deep Clean Detox Retreat aims improving health, rejuvenating appearance, calming mind and recovering energy. This programme begins with a 3-day liquid-based diet (broths, smoothies and infusions) and continues with a semi-detox menu based on macrobiotics with the aim of revitalising body and mind. In addition, yoga classes will help you to become more aware of your body and to discover its benefits. The nutrition workshop will teach you new eating habits. The duration of treatments will greatly influence the achieved result. Although we advise you to complete the program for a minimum of 7 nights, the results are visible from the fifth day.

If you need to purify yourself and to cleanse your body to give it strength and energy, then this program is for you. A short but very effective stay in which you will deeply cleanse your body and reset yourself, in readiness to focus on a new healthier lifestyle. Do you need to feel better inside and out? We propose that you spend a few days in MasQi to give your body the energy it needs, purifying and cleansing yourself. We will create a Detox diet, based on liquids (broths, smoothies and infusions), with which we will also improve our health and rejuvenate our appearance. This program is completed by yoga classes, lots of rest and nature walks.

A holistic program of 6 nights in which you can experience a change in your life, taking you towards healthier habits by finding inner peace, improving your physical and mental state and living more fully and happily. Have you become aware of who you are and how your life is going? From MasQi we present a trip to your interior where you will connect with yourself and get to change all those aspects of your day to day life that you would like to improve. Draw a plan to feel better, see things clearly and take charge. To achieve change we will use an infallible combination of yoga and meditation practice, therapies to recover and balance energy, ayurveda sessions, mentoring and a healthy life course.

What’s on the menu?

Food is a key part of a stay at MasQi, guided by the principles of a macrobiotic diet. The focus isn’t on restriction, but education – inspiring guests to eat well, care for themselves long after they return home, and discover new ingredients along the way.

Ingredients are organic and of the highest quality, with vegetables sourced from trusted organic growers in the Valencia region. The cuisine is largely plant-based, with occasional additions of wild fish, carefully selected from the Alicante fish market.

From time to time, MasQi hosts themed dining experiences – from blindfold dinners to esoteric evenings or menus inspired by different countries and cultures.

Breakfast
Breakfast follows the principles of a macrobiotic diet, designed to be easy to digest while providing steady energy for the day ahead. Miso soup is a daily staple, alongside a nourishing selection of wholegrains and cereals. Coffee is available.

Lunch
A balanced three-course menu with dessert, designed to nourish without weighing you down. Expect seasonal vegetables, wholegrains and plant-based proteins like tofu, tempeh, seitan and legumes.

Dinner
A relaxed candlelit affair. Dishes are predominantly plant-based, with protein largely drawn from vegetables, legumes and grains, while occasional fish features for added variety.

Your accommodation at MasQi - The Energy House

MasQi has just 11 rooms, each cosy, stylish and individually designed, offering views over the gardens and the surrounding Natural Park. In keeping with the retreat’s focus on mindfulness and relaxation, bedrooms don’t have TVs, encouraging guests to fully disconnect and embrace the environment. Just so you know, room images are a guide only – each is unique. 
Basic room
There are two of these simply styled single-occupancy rooms (East and Shanti), located on the ground and second floors with garden and mountain views. Both have a bathroom with a shower. Facilities include heating/air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, bathrobe, slippers and toiletries, and a hairdryer.

Standard room (double room)
There are three of these double rooms (South, West and Om). South and West are located on the second floor with views of the front garden and the Sierra. Both have king-size or twin beds and a bathroom with a shower. Om has the same layout but is on the ground floor with views of the Sierra, and direct access to the garden via a private balcony.Facilities include heating/air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries, and a hairdryer.

Superior room
There are three of these rooms (Namaste, Shambala and Nirvana). Shambala is on the first floor with a king-size bed, seating area and views of the Sierra. Namaste and Nirvana are on the ground floor with a king-size or twin beds, a fireplace and views of the Sierra, plus direct access to the garden. All rooms have a bathroom with a shower. Facilities include heating/air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries, and a hairdryer.

Suite
There are three suites (North, Karuna and Samadhi). Karuna and Samadhi are on the first floor with views of the Sierra. North is on the second floor with impressive views of the Sierra from three areas. All have king-size beds and living rooms with sofas (one can be converted into a bed). North and Karuna have a bathroom with shower, Samadhi has a bathroom with a hydromassage bathtub. Facilities include heating/air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a safe, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries, and a hairdryer.

LOCATION

MasQi sits deep in the Mariola mountain range within the protected Sierra de Mariola Natural Park, between Alicante and Valencia. Despite its sense of escape, MasQi remains easy to reach. 

Alicante Airport is a 60-minute drive away.

One of the best yoga and wellness retreats I have visited, especially, in its price range. A small intimate boutique-y place up in the mountains was a welcome change of scenery from the beach experience in Costa Blanca. The place is "living and breathing" yoga and you sense this from the moment you arrive. Building/ambiance: beautiful historic space in a rustic chic style with art deco touches. I meant to ask more about the history of the property but did not have a chance Activities and treatments: you get about 3 hours of quality yoga and meditation per day which is incredible for the price of the stay compared to other retreats. The teachers are authentic and adopt to guests of various levels (I am a trainer yoga teacher myself and found the sessions very valuable). The massages were of high quality (I am a someone who gets regular osteo and physio treatments back at home). Food: based on the macrobiotic diet which I had studied thoroughly in the past. I find it very complimentary to the yoga practices and it can have a nice detoxing effect. But do keep in mind that the macrobiotic diet is heavily skewed towards grains, legumes and starches. Low on animal protein (only fish). Everything taste incredible and portions are very generous (I actually ended up asking for smaller portions). Service: people are incredibly attentive. The place feels very personal and homey. Overall: it is called Energy House for a reason. You feel the vibe (the right feng shui :-)) from the moment you arrive!

I had a truly wonderful week at MasQi and have returned home feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Everyone was so friendly, the macrobiotic food was amazing, as were all the treatments I received. The place itself and the surrounding area are magical. Thanks for booking the escape for me!
