About Porto Elounda Golf & Spa Resort

Porto Elounda Golf & Spa has a stunning location on Crete’s north-east coast, overlooking the sapphire waters of Mirabello Bay and with its own sandy Blue Flag beach just footsteps away. You’re well-placed for exploring here. It’s a short drive from both the charming village of Elounda and the lively town of Agios Nikolaos.

The resort’s architecture and landscaping reflect the island, with sunny, palm-peppered terraces, surrounding olive groves and sea views. The resort’s award-winning Six Senses Spa, one of the largest in Europe, blends holistic treatments with thermal experiences including hammams, saunas and an indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy pool.

Beyond wellness, guests can enjoy Crete’s only private nine-hole golf course, multiple outdoor pools, tennis and watersports, plus family friendly activities. Dining, meanwhile, spans Greek, Italian and international cuisine, served against the backdrop of the glittering bay.

Porto Elounda welcomes guests of all ages. Little ones can enjoy the creche, staffed by professional nannies, while children aged five to 12 can take advantage of waterslides and supervised activities at Kid’s Ark. Teenagers also have tailored activities.

With a spa by the renowned Six Senses name, you can expect an impressive wellness offering at Porto Elounda, with a holistic menu including Tai Chi, Reiki and Oriental massages. Greek-inspired treatments are also on the cards, incorporating natural local ingredients.

Facilities include an indoor-outdoor hydrotherapy pool (plus outdoor pools heated to 25°C during spring and autumn), a Turkish hammam, caldarium, Finnish sauna, ice plunge pool, indoor and outdoor relaxation areas, sea-view treatment rooms, and a state-of-the-art gym. Elsewhere, there's a football academy, padel and pickleball courts, and a LUX TENNIS academy (courts and lessons can be booked at an extra cost).

What’s on the menu?

Dining at Porto Elounda spotlights the famous Cretan diet, celebrated for its freshness and health benefits. Menus feature seafood, traditional Greek dishes and seasonal produce, with plenty of vegetables, salads and fruit. The restaurants, lounges and bars have beautiful sea views, and are either among the olive groves or directly by the water.

The resort hosts themed evenings including Opa Night at Elies Restaurant, with music and the traditional smashing of plates, and Fish Night at the Yacht Club, a seafood-focused evening accompanied by live music.

Your stay includes breakfast and dinner at Cosmos Restaurant. Alternatively, dining credit can be used at the à la carte restaurants, as well as for themed dining nights.

LOCATION

Porto Elounda Golf & Spa is in north-east Crete, overlooking beautiful Mirabello Bay and its own private beach. The smart seaside village of Elounda is less than a five-minute drive away, loved for its laid-back atmosphere and waterfront tavernas. You can catch a boat from here to Spinalonga, too – a fascinating former leper’s colony.

The historic town of Agios Nikolaos is 15 minutes away, and has a livelier offering with cafés, bars and a picturesque harbour. Heraklion Airport, meanwhile, is one hour away by car.

Amazing hotel in a lovely location. The gym is really good and the spa was perfect. The range of activities and spa treatments on offer was really good. The service amazed and delighted me. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was broadly excellent; I only used the main buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner but there was always something I wanted to eat. The hot food was hot and not overcooked. The cold food was properly cold and delicious. The bedrooms were lovely and we'll tended. The little beach was lovely (although this early in the season the water is a little cold!). I had a lovely 10 days relaxing, working out, swimming and being tended to in the spa. I don't normally have an inactive holiday like that but it was just what I needed!!

The standard of the hotel was not as espected for what was sold, 5 stars. One tried to give me an old room - and not the room in the brochure. (That was not that excellent either.) Ruined clothes dry-cleening/washing - not following my instructions.
