This Saint Lucia retreat offers Caribbean sun, watersports galore, a super-swish spa and a great single traveller vibe. In this blog, our spa spy Dominika reports back from her stay.

Saint Lucia is such a stunning place and the resort is set in a wonderful bay at the foot of some hills and surrounded by typically lush Caribbean vegetation.
The journey from the airport took about 90 minutes. But mind you, those road were very winding! The BodyHoliday check-in process was very friendly with a welcome drink. We were then taken to our room, which was clean, comfortable and spacious – traditional rather than modern, deliberately without a TV and with stunning views of the ocean. Coming from cold and damp London, the sun, sea air and humidity was very welcome!
The fact that there is so much to do, so you can pack your schedule with all kinds of different fitness and watersports. Activities run from 7am to 6pm and sometimes I felt that the day was not long enough! However, no one will push you to do these activities, so it's perfect if you are looking for a chilled holiday, too. I settled into my daily routine very quickly, which included a fitness activity, snorkelling, relaxing spa treatment and some quality beach time. I ended the day watching the sunset with a drink.
A treatment is included everyday (except arrival and departure day). You can select from a spa menu including massages, facials, scrubs, wraps and more. I quickly got used to the daily massages which worked well to ease the aches and strains from all the activities. My favourite treatment was a facial, which left me glowing (my boyfriend said!). The spa is set up the hill from the main resort and is a peaceful place to unwind.
The food was delicious and a good variety of options meant that you could always have something different. There are three restaurants and a deli serving fresh salads and sandwiches with an attached juice bar and coffee shop. The food was clearly labelled, which I loved as I could carry on with my healthy eating lifestyle on my holiday. There was a Caribbean buffet one night and beach barbecue, too – that was probably my favourite night.
All the activities were excellent with knowledgeable, enthusiastic instructors making them lots of fun. There was a daily fitness schedule offering yoga, meditation, stretching, different fitness classes, intro or advanced classes for tennis or watersports. I did try a couple of different classes and loved the Swiss ball class, barre and aqua fit. I have to say that after a week I could definitely feel that my muscles were used!
The variety of activities on offer, as well as the idyllic setting. I loved watching the sunset every evening. Also the friendliness of the staff and the fellow guests was a bonus. I can see why a solo traveller would love this place. It is very social offering communal tables and group activities.
This resort works well for most people. I certainly met a range of people from couples to large groups and solo travellers, who all enjoyed it. The other thing that stood out was that the vast majority of guests were returning visitors (some who were in double digit visits!). I don't think I have ever been somewhere with such a loyal following and that must say something about the place. I'd recommend BodyHoliday to all sorts of travellers – an active couple or friends or singles who wish to have nice beach holiday but don't want to feel awkward.
