Wellness

The ethos here is to provide superior treatments in a relaxing environment. The spa combines nature with Portuguese tradition, not forgetting elements of water, stone and wood. The decor uses ecologically friendly materials. Therapies by the expertly trained staff range from locally inspired, grape-based treatments using local herbs and fruits to Six Senses signature therapies. As dog lover, the hotel even offers some spa treatments to dogs staying at Douro Valley.

In 2021, the spa facilities were renovated. Heated indoor swimming pool now features a hydrotherapy circuit with jets for legs, lumbar and neck area, underwated LED cromotherapy and underwater soothing sound therapy. The full circuit is completed by a cold plunge pool at 5ºC, an analgesic, pain and inflammation reliever, and a vitality pool at 38ºC that will improve the blood flow and reduce anxiety and stress. There are also 10 treatment rooms, outdoor 25m lap pool, aerial yoga studio and state-of-an-art gym.
