About Ayurvie Sigiriya

Located within Sri Lanka’s iconic Cultural Triangle, Ayurvie Sigiriya is an authentic Ayurvedic retreat for those seeking meaningful restoration. It’s designed to mirror a traditional Sri Lankan village, with low-rise buildings, natural materials and open spaces that morph into the surrounding jungle and paddy fields.

At the heart of the experience is personalised Ayurveda. Guests follow a tailored programme of Panchakarma and Ayurvedic treatments, yoga, pranayama and nourishing vegetarian cuisine, all guided by resident doctors and therapists. Days are unhurried, encouraging you to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Beyond treatments, the retreat has an impressive activities list, which spans village cycling, pottery workshops, wildlife safaris and hikes to the majestic Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Prefer to keep things relaxed? Head for the saltwater swimming pool to enjoy peace and quiet among the palms and papaya trees.

Just so you know, children are not encouraged at this retreat. The minimum age for guests is 13 years and above.

Wellness at Ayurvie Sigiriya

This is a well-established Ayurvedic retreat, dedicated to restoring your physical and mental wellbeing through time-honoured practices. The doctors, therapists and chefs work together to create a highly personalised journey. The same healing philosophy is followed at Sigiriya's sister property, Ayurvie Weligama.

Guests can detox and nourish the body through Panchakarma and Ayurvedic treatments in dedicated cabins, along with daily yoga and pranayama (breathwork) sessions in an open-air pavilion, tailored vegetarian cuisine and bespoke herbal elixirs – all adapted to individual needs and body types.

Guests are encouraged to explore the gardens alongside the Ayurvedic doctor or chef, learning about medicinal plants, vegetables and traditional remedies. You can even pick your own produce and take part in simple cooking experiences, as well as observe the preparation of herbal teas and oils using garden-grown ingredients.

The retreat is alcohol free, meat free, and doesn’t serve carbonated drinks, supporting a clean, restorative Ayurvedic lifestyle.

Your accommodation at Ayurvie Sigiriya

Ayurvie Sigiriya is an intimate retreat with just 10 rooms, each traditionally decorated using local materials and handcrafted furnishings. The design reflects a Sri Lankan village dwelling, with rooms subtly integrated into the natural landscape and positioned to face the sunrise. Time-old clay-based construction methods were used for natural insulation and cooling.

Rooms are furnished with Ayurveda in mind, and guests are thoughtfully assigned a room that aligns with their individual body constitution, or dosha. Each room also features a small private organic garden, planted with local spices used in Ayurvedic remedies.
