What were your first impressions of the resort?
Upon arrival into Alicante Airport I met my driver who whisked me off to the car and we were on the way to SHA Wellness Clinic quickly. SHA is only 45 minutes from the airport which meant I was there before I knew it and I was ready to begin my wellness journey. SHA is a vision of slick, white lines and contemporary design and I was warmly welcomed at reception, efficiently checked in and given an in-depth tour of the clinic. I couldn’t wait to begin my Discovery Programme.
What do you think makes SHA Wellness Clinic so special?
I think it has to be the depth of knowledge and expertise available that really puts SHA Wellness Clinic above the rest. If you’ve got a specific wellness goal which you’d like to tackle or simply if you’re looking for an overall health booster, I promise you’ll see results here. The friendly staff make you feel very welcome and take the time to make sure you are enjoying your stay. I also loved that you are assigned a specific table and waiter in the restaurant so each day you can have a chat with your waiter about how you’re getting on and they get to know your preferences.
What was your favourite treatment?
I honestly enjoyed all the treatments I had! But if I had to chose one, I would say the Rose Alpine Facial. I am a sucker for a good facial and this did not disappoint. It left my skin completely rejuvenated and soft. I also really enjoyed the Indiba which is a non-invasive radio frequency treatment that helps to reduce cellulite, shape the silhouette and smooth the skin.
What was your favourite activity?
There is so much to get involved in here including daily group fitness classes and the SHA Wellness Academy including the Chef’s studio where you can learn the healthy secrets behind SHA’s nutrition. I would say that my favourite activity was the private yoga class. I’d never done a private class before, so I was good to find out what I could be working harder on. I also heard that the morning power walks to the lighthouse and beach are a must-do… I will definitely do that next time.
How was the food?
SHA’s healthy nutrition was delicious and so exquisitely presented. I opted for the normal SHA Menu and I genuinely looked forward to meal times everyday to find out what I would be eating. The portions are small at first but nutritionally dense and packed full of flavour, so your body gets all that it needs. By the end I was used to the portion sizes and left feeling completely nourished. You also get daily prescribed tea which I enjoyed drinking.
What was your favourite aspect of the resort?
I would say that the SHA Wellness Academy is my favourite aspect of SHA. It’s designed to help guests make positive changes to their lives and continue to invest in their health when they return home. There is a daily schedule of workshops to get involved in as well as educational films and documentaries to enjoy in the cinema.
Who would you recommend SHA Wellness Clinic to?
SHA Wellness Clinic is best for those who have a specific wellness or health goal they would like to achieve such as detox, weight-loss or stress management. It’s ideal for solo travellers, the staff make solo travellers feel very welcomed and comfortable. I’d also recommend it to friends and couples looking for a healthy break together.
