Lisa escaped the miserable October weather and headed off to sunny Turkey to check out the popular Sianji Wellbeing Resort in Bodrum. She gives us the low down from her stay.
What were your first impressions of Sianji Wellbeing Resort?
How pretty and colourful it was! That sounds weird but I absolutely loved all the palm trees, flowers and Turkish design of the hotel. You enter into the lobby on the highest floor so you can really take advantage of the beautiful view across the Resort and ocean. It’s a big hotel but I didn’t feel lost as a solo traveller at all and all the staff are super friendly and welcoming.
What was the spa like?
The Sianji Life Wellness centre is the focus point of the Resort and it has never ending facilities. It’s got plenty of treatments on offer from holistic options, detox to beauty treatments. There is an indoor swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, saunas, steam rooms, the most beautiful relaxation room, hammam and the list goes on. I opted for a relaxing Bali massage which was blissful and the therapist really got into my knots. You can enjoy the spa facilities anytime during your stay even though it was pretty warm and most people were around the outdoor pool or beach, I imagine it would be ideal during the cooler months.
What was your favourite aspect of the hotel?
The fact that you do a serious detox programme in the comfort of a luxury hotel. You get the best of both worlds here. I also loved how big the Resort is so you can hide away on one of the loungers on the beach or by the pool (or the top floor lounge and admire the views). I absolutely loved the sunsets too. The detox centre here is also amazing and great value for money.
What was the detox programme like?
I was only there for a few days and usually you need to do a detox for at least a week if you want to see the results but I got a good idea of how the detox programmes work. After a great and in depth consultation with the detox specialist, I opted for the Raw & Vegan detox and it consisted 10 small meals or juices throughout the day. You dine in a seperate resturant away from the leisure guests so you are not tempted to eat ‘normal’ food and it has a nice atmosphere with everyone arriving at similar times. It’s a great way to meet others and share stories. The meals were delicious and it was very well organised. It was nice to lounge around the hotel and then head to get my meals throughout the day. If you are on a Master Detox (juicing) you also have a daily 'Angel of Water' which is a self administered colonic to help with the detoxification of the body.
Who would you recommend sianji too?
If you want to do an effective detox programme but don’t want to be in a really ‘serious’ medical spa. It’s also great for those who want to be independent with the opportunity to meet other likeminded detox guests. Not all the staff speak English but they give it a good go.
