The body has a bio-electronic function, which is governed with electro magnetism. Traditional Chinese Medicine has its roots in this principle; tradition calls this QI, Energy or Prana. Philippa believes that bioelectronics allows us to interact with our environment to survive. She believes we need to understand, and balance this interaction within our environment — both our internal and external ecosystem — to be the best version of ourselves.
After practicing TCM since 2004 and seeing thousands of patients, Phillipa has applied her systems theory into a highly effective practical methodology. This is called (H3 +1)©. She is in the process of writing a book about the methodology, with an optional workbook to have integrated learning. Using systems theory, with creativity embraced in TCM and eco-psychology, she believes we can learn about ourselves, about nature and our personal interconnection with it — leading to happiness and health.
Currently, Phillipa has her own practice in Alicante, and she is also Head of the Traditional Chinese Medicine department at SHA Spain, a world leader in integrative healthcare. Philosophically, she follows The Right Livelihood as a concept where body, mind, spiritual health and material wellbeing are not enemies, they are natural allies.
Phillipa believes that human energy, or bio electricity, is the most important source of renewable energy and that the unity between nature and the person's spirit is indispensable for balance. Modern society and the lack of connectivity to our own ecosystems, both inside our body and outside, create disease, both physical and mental. We need to find the way to internal coherence. Research in understanding the impact of electromagnetism or bio electricity on our body and its impact on health, and how we fit into the nature of this balance, is her passion.
Outside work, Phillipa practices what she preaches. She's passionate about reconnecting to herself through nature. She practices forest bathing, does stand-up paddle, kayaking and rock climbing. She also meditates through creativity. As a good Zen paraphrase says “If you can’t sit still for five minutes, sit for 10.” So she uses sculpture, art and photography to centre her coherence.
