Like something out of a storybook, Chenot Palace Weggis perches on the Lake Lucerne waterfront, turrets and all, with the majestic Swiss Alps as a backdrop. Founded by Spanish doctor Henri Chenot, it’s one of the world’s leading medical spas – a state-of-the-art wellness sanctuary admired by industry experts worldwide.
Programmes are based on the Chenot Method, which combines 50 years of expertise and scientific evidence to deliver highly personalised treatment plans. The aim is to reset both mind and body, support an active lifestyle, and reduce the risk of age-related illnesses and chronic conditions. The approach integrates diagnostics, therapies, stress relief, fitness and a strict Chenot Diet®.
If it sounds cutting-edge, that’s because it is. This is a retreat for those serious about their health, offering a transformative experience that’ll take you out of your comfort zone while nurturing lasting wellbeing.
Due to the hotel’s focus on wellness, we wouldn’t recommend it for little ones. Babies and children up to 10 years can stay with a nanny, and family meals are served in a dedicated area of the restaurant. A fixed charge applies for children’s and nanny meals. Please get in touch for more information.
The spa is the heart and soul of Palace Weggis, based exclusively on the Chenot Method. Developed over years, the programmes offer a 360-degree approach to wellbeing, combining Western scientific advancements with Eastern philosophies like Traditional Chinese Medicine, alongside a strict diet, diagnostic testing, medical consultations and individualised treatments. Guests can choose from three spa programmes, with a minimum one-week stay required.
Facilities are divided into Medical, Human Performance, Hydrotherapy, Aesthetic, Medical Aesthetic, and Sports & Fitness departments, which work together to achieve personalised outcomes. The spa team includes highly qualified doctors and therapists, who specialise in medicine, sports medicine, energetic medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, physical therapy and fitness.
Wellness services and activities span a 20-metre indoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness room, strength and stretching areas, a yoga studio, personal training, along with outdoor options such as swimming in Lake Lucerne, cycling, jogging or hiking. A beauty salon offers hairdressing, waxing and mani-pedi services.
Just so you know, certain medical conditions may restrict access, such as pregnancy, illness or recent surgery. Ask the team for advice.
The hotel has 97 rooms and suites, which are spread across four buildings. Le Petit Château houses Suites, Twins and Junior Suites, while Le Première Maison (1875) accommodates all other room types, including all single rooms. La Grande Maison, a modern wooden building, contains most guest rooms, the main reception and the medical spa. La Petite Maison (2007) features Suites and Junior Suites with spacious balconies or terraces and lake views.
Rooms are thoughtfully designed with wooden floors, soft furnishings and pretty wallpaper. Layouts vary in historical buildings, with views of Lake Lucerne or the peaks of Mount Rigi and Mount Pilatus.
The hotel is in Weggis, a small, idyllic resort on the shores of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of Mount Rigi. The region has been dubbed the ‘Riviera of Switzerland’ thanks to its oxygen-rich air, lush greenery and natural spring water sources.
The nearest airport is Zurich, just a 45-minute drive away. Basel is another option, with a transfer time of around 90 minutes. You can also reach the area by train from major cities like Paris, Geneva and Milan, with connections to nearby stations like Arth-Goldau and Rotkreuz. Alternatively, arrive at Lucerne’s main station and enjoy a scenic 45-minute ferry ride from Luzern Bahnhofquai.
