The Alpina Gstaad is a luxurious mountain hotel located in an exclusive hilltop area of Oberbort. This small and discreet resort will please even the most demanding guest with its Michelin star restaurants, rooms with stunning views of the Alps and it's luxury Six Senses spa. This spa is the only Six Senses spa in Switzerland and offers holistic treatments based on Asian traditions. Easy access to the slopes and hiking trails makes this place the perfect base for all skiers and nature lovers. The Alpina Gstaad is a seasonal hotel and is open for summer from 9th June to 22nd September. The winter season is from 6th December to 15th March.

When to go

Gstaad has a humid continental climate with warm summer months and cold snowy winters. The warmest months to visit are July and August. The coldest time is from December to February with freezing temperatures.

The Six Senses Spa, inspired by Asian wellness traditions, is the only Six Senses spa in Switzerland. Six Senses is a holistic destination spa offering the highest level of service. Spa treatments are bases on detox and energising principles so why not to try a colour therapy or colonics in a safe environment? Swiss Alpine treatments are also offered and the spa uses products from ILA, Biologique Recherche or Burgener. 

Facilities include 12 treatment rooms, indoor lap pool, garden swimming pool, sauna, hammam, salt room, jacuzzi, yoga studio, gym and relaxation area with juice bar.

There are 56 rooms and suites in total. All rooms have private balconies with spectacular views of the village or surrounding mountains. The design of the rooms blend the famous Swiss luxury, Alpine style with local authentic heritage. Expect lots of woodwork, local stone, fireplaces, and period yet modern furniture.

Deluxe Room
The Deluxe Room is 31-33 SqM. 

It has a private en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and walk in shower. 

All rooms are balconies. Some overlook the village and some face the Diablerets Mountains and village below. 

Junior Suite
The Junior Suites are 63sqm. 

They have a large bedroom connected with a lounge and dining area. 

Features include floor to ceiling windows, fireplace, bathtub and separate shower. 

What’s on the menu

There are three restaurant at the hotel which are overseen by the executive Chef Martin Goschel. All dishes are authentic and creative using the finest products and ingredients. Alpina Gstaad is the right place if you wish to indulge - Michelin star Restaurant Sommet, Japanese themed Megu, traditional Swiss Stubli or wine cellar with over 1700 fine vintage wines will treat all your senses. Breakfast is included in the room price but the hotel does not offer half or full board meal plans. You can enjoy all restaurants at your leisure.

The village of Gstaad, located in southwest Switzerland is less than 10 minutes walk away. The hotel is located on the top of Oberbort providing panoramic views of The Alps. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from 9am to 10 pm which takes you to the slopes and to several restaurants in Gstaad.

Nearest airport

The nearest airport is Geneva which is about 2 hours drive away. You can also fly to Zurich which is 3 hours away.

You can also to take the train to Gstaad. Trains are comfortable and not expensive. The journey from Geneva airport to Gstaad will take you  approximately 2,5 hours.

There is a small airport 6.5km from The Alpina Gstaad so you get a private helicopter transfer too.

Everyone is welcome at The Alpina Gstaad. There is a children's club is available which is fully supervised for all children above 3 years old. 

There are a variety of games and outdoor activities available. There is also a separate kids pool with a mini slide.
