Thalassotherapy uses the elements and minerals found in seawater and seaweed such as magnesium, potassium and calcium for healing purposes. Thalassotherapy spas are always on the coast as the sea water cannot be reconstituted and has to be pumped directly to the spa after being filtered from four metres below sea surface. The health benefits of pure sea water have been proven over hundreds of years. It is very close to human plasma in density and has many of the same components. Once pumped from the sea and warmed to body temperature, the mineral rich water is easily absorbed through the skin. It’s utterly relaxing so recommended for sleep and stress issues. We have a number of spa holidays with Thalassotherapy as a speciality. Your programme will include sessions in a Thalassotherapy pool (with jets at different heights and strengths which stimulate your circulation) as well as Thalassotherapy spa treatments such as wraps using marine products like seaweed and mineral-rich seawater spray showers. Benefits include reducing aches and pains, calming your mind and body, so it's very good for stress and sleep disorders as well as inducing utter relaxation. It's also good for weight loss, cellulite reduction, post-natal toning, back problems, water retention, circulation problems and joint pain.
