Overview

Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort & Spa is a five-star sanctuary on Sicily’s west coast, nestled in a Mediterranean park filled with centuries-old olive trees and fragrant citrus groves. The resort’s elegant rooms and suites open onto private balconies or terraces, showcasing views of gardens, fountains and pretty courtyards.

The state-of-the-art Almablu Wellness & Spa draws inspiration from the island’s Roman, Arab, and Norman heritage. Ultra-chic in design, it has atmospheric mood lighting and grey marble finishes. R&R is easy to come by here, thanks to thermal pools, saunas, and tranquil relaxation areas.

At the heart of the spa experience is Qi-balancing, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles. Treatments focus on releasing tension and restoring energetic harmony via massage, reflexology, and holistic rituals. Throw in a palm-fringed outdoor pool and traditional Sicilian cuisine, and you’ve got a great base for relaxing in the sunshine.

Just so you know, the hotel welcomes guests of all ages but is more suited to adults. There’s no kids’ club, but babysitting can be arranged.

When to go

The hotel is typically open between from April to October. Expect typical Mediterranean weather. July and August are very popular in Sicily, especially for families. Therefore we recommend you to stay before or after those two months.

Wellness

Just like its sister hotel, Almar Jesolo, the resort’s wellness offering centres on the award-winning Almablu concept. Treatments follow Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and are created by a specialist team. The aim is to restore balance in your ‘Qi’ energy, leaving you feeling physically refreshed and mentally clearer. You can choose from a range of programmes, tailored around focuses like better sleep, relaxation and general wellbeing.

The spa’s 2,700 square-metre design is a journey through Sicily’s history, with areas reflecting the Roman, Arab and Norman influences that shaped the island. The Roman-Arab hammam recreates the thermal baths of ancient Rome, with a tepidarium, caldarium and a Turkish salt bath. The Norman area features a bio-sauna, Finnish sauna, ice cascade and cold plunge pool.

The resort also has a spacious fitness area with modern equipment.

Just so you know, the The Roman-Arab hammam is closed until further notice.

Aquamadre
AquaMadre offers sophisticated dining with a wide selection of traditional Sicilian dishes, all prepared using high-quality local produce.
Fried aubergine on a salad bed with edible flowers
Turchinu Lounge & Terrace
Turchinu, meaning turquoise, is inspired by the colours of the surrounding Med. A panoramic terrace extends from the bar.
Sandwiches and fruity drinks on a table by the poolside
Citrus Pool Bar
Citrus serves a selection of traditional Sicilian rotisserie favourites, including arancini, onion rings and mixed fried fish.

Location

The hotel is in the heart of Mazara del Vallo, a seafront town rich in history and character – think Baroque architecture, centuries-old churches and spindly lanes that echo a Middle Eastern kasbah. The historic wine town of Marsala, famous for its salt pans and lagoons, is around 45 minutes away and makes for an easy day trip.

Palermo Airport is the nearest major airport, with a transfer time of around 70 minutes, while smaller Trapani Airport is closer (around 50 minutes by car). The hotel’s private sandy beach, Lido di Costanza, is a 15-minute drive away – a complimentary shuttle runs at scheduled times throughout the day.

Families, Children & Infants

Hotel welcomes guests of all ages but hotel is more suited for adults. There is no kids club but babysitting can be arranged.
